What is the Stratford River Festival?

The Stratford River Festival is a real delight for water lovers, a true celebration of life on the River Avon in the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon. As so many events this year, the festival has been postponed until 2022 but, in anticipation of this, here are some festival highlights to whet your appetite.

The Stratford River Festival offers a wonderful, wide ranging array of free events and activities for everyone. In 2019, the festival attracted over 70,000 visitors to the beautiful town of Stratford-upon-Avon where they enjoyed live music, craft fairs, fireworks, family fun and narrowboat tours. Alongside all of this, a myriad of food outlets provided delicious treats for peaceful picnics beside the river.

As its name suggests, the festival is focused on the river but the spirit of the festival is embraced throughout the town creating a vibrant atmosphere in the cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops. Shakespeare Marina will be well and truly ready in time for the Stratford River Festival next year and we anticipate lots of boating enthusiasts coming to moor at one of our berths. So, whether you have a mooring there or are just visiting, the marina provides the ideal base for enjoying all aspects of the festival and for celebrating life on the river in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The Stratford River Festival is without doubt a festival to look forward to and enjoy, so make sure you make a note of it in your calendar for next year.
